1) An 1862 Warrant for Smith & Dey signed by Territorial Auditor P Child. For $202.75. Cancelled. Probably for lumber as Dey was involved with a saw mill from 1860 to 1863. (He also mined with John C Fremont in 1859, took an eight month trip around the world with James Fair in 1870 and was at one time United States Marshal for Nevada.) 2) An official 1862 document from Territorial Treasurer James H Kinkead (signed) to P Child auditor. Kinkead would be Nevada's third Governor from 1879 to 1883 and Alaska's first governor of the newly formed District of Alaska in 1884. 3) 1864 note from A. F. White to Child stating he had received the money for his warrant. Reverend A.F. White was superintendent to of public education. This is dated the day before Nevada officially became a state.
