A rare first-edition copy of "Through the Yukon and Alaska" by Thomas Arthur Rickard, originally published 1909. Rickard, who was a significant mining engineer and author on mining, wrote this book documenting and reflecting on his trip through the Yukon and Alaska Territory in 1908. It describes the region's mining industry as well as its people, settlements, and natural landscape. Hardback, original blue cloth binding w/ white text and applied paper dogsled illustration, floral endpaper, 392 pages. Illustrated throughout with photos including frontispiece. Generally good condition, faded spine, some cosmetic wear to cover, minor tears on page w/ frontispiece; see photos. 6.75"x9.25"x1.25".
