Lot of 12. Victoria, crowned Queen, Was unable to be King of Hanover (because of being female). Unpopular Uncle Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland as oldest male heir was sent to full full the role. These commemorate his departure and are meant to be satire. The reverse is in the style of St George slaying the dragon. It said if you look closely it is actually a monkey on horseback (he was unpopular). Declared illegal in 1833.
Obverse two varieties: Victoria Queen and Empress (1) version showing an older bust of the Queen, unlisted. Victoria Regina (11) listed VR-96, VR-100, VR-105, VR-200, VR-330, V-335, VR-442.
