Very detailed basket / tray. Five-point squash blossom design. 14 " diam x 2.75" deep. Excellent condition. The Tohono O´odham or Desert People (Papago) are a Piman-speaking group who live in southwestern Arizona and northern Mexico. The basketry work of this group has long been renowned for its sensitive and beautiful works created of the simplest of materials in the harsh environs of the southwest. They use willow and both used martynia (devil’s claw) for a decorative material. City: State: Arizona Date: 1960's HWAC# 32015
