Stock ledger with 45 issued stocks: 26 stocks issued to company president TJ Lamoureaux in 1903, 15 stocks issued 1903-1909 to others, and 4 more stocks issued 1910-1927 to others. About 25 unissued stocks at the end. All stocks cancelled. The Tonopah Aspen mine was located at the north end of the district, surrounded by the Black Diamond, Buckeye, Defender and Scorpion claims (from Britton & Rey map of the district, 1902). The certificates have printed down the left side, "Mines Located at Tonopah, Nye County, Nevada". Only about 1/3 of the original certificates are here, with the first one returned being #37. Stub #7 shows that 400,000 shares were issued to Lamoureaux and stub #8 shows that 199,900 were issued to W. Hinkle Smith, Bourse, Philadelphia. Smith was a wealthy Philadelphia capitalist who directed many companies in different states (Kansas University archives). There is some damage to the spine and some of the certificates have rough edges or browning. Stock certificate books from Tonopah or Goldfield rarely if ever show up, so this is a great find.
