How far have the mighty fallen? 20 years ago Goldfield was the largest city in the state with 10,000 people. I counted just over 100 phone numbers in this book. There are familiar names; D'Arcy, T&G Railroad with ten numbers, Kendall, Koontz, Goldfield Consolidated Mine, Bullfrog Goldfield Railroad, etc. Manhattan has only six numbers and only two are for residents. Calls to Geiger Grade are $11.0 and Williams, Nevada is $1.05. There are also rates to Huffakers, Fleish, Mogul, Lawton Springs, Derby, and Ditho? String attached to hang on the phone.
