1883. Number 830 for 500 shares to John Harvey. Signed by John McMillan and JM Requa. Pick and shovel mining vignette. Faded brown seal. Otherwise no edge, corner, color or pinhole issues. The name of the Total Wreck mine is rooted in the origins of the mine's original founders. It is believed that one founders, J.T Dillon, remarked "well the mineral foundation is a total wreck" and the name stuck. The mine and its operations spawned the town around it, which had a post office and 4 saloons. The mine's founders were Walter Vale, and J.T. Dillon, and was noted for its rich silver production in its heyday. Black borders and a central vignette of exploring miners. By 1884 the mines in the area had produced $500,000 in silver. In the 1890's mining declined steeply and by the early 1900's it was fast fading into history. A nice, rare Arizona stock certificate with a great story!
