1847 Travels in Mexico by Albert M Gillian. 312pp. A detailed discussion of Mexican mines, up thru Texas to California. Mentions of ore bags made of animal hides. On page 170, there was no mill, heaps of silver in one yard, broken piece by piece by hand, how fascinating! On page 289, in 1835 Mexico abandoned her military posts...in California..and subsequent historical facts abundantly prove that the government intended to relinquish the country "regarding it as a region too worthless and remote". Their loss! Foxing, binding worn overall, top and bottom spines issues, spine sun exposure, water stains inside both boards, large chip on back flyleaf etc. Please inspect. Mexico
