1) Dateline Treasure City, Dec. 3rd, 1870. Pay to Jas. Steel $45. Signed by J.E. Clayton as superintendent for O.H.T. Orange 2 cent Nevada and US IR stamps with cancels. Cut cancel with tape repair. 2) Identical check, this time with Hamilton dateline. Issued to Henry Goldsworth for $49. Also signed by Clayton. Orange 2 cent Nevada and US IR stamps with cancels. Cut cancel. Pencil writing on reverse. We know Clayton was a mining engineer and geologist as he published on the White Pine District, but we cannot ascertain what O.H.T. was. Perhaps a tunnel company?
