Dated December 3, 1849, a letter from The Secretary of the Treasury transmitting his annual report on the state of the Finances to the 31st Congress. 995 pages report; 6 x 9 inches, no cover. His letter prefacing the report ends with comments on the thousands who have gone to California "contributing to the metallic wealth of the world."
