Very rare. Dateline Truckee, Nov. 27th, 1872. Received of Dr. Curless a package of $150 sent to Justin Gates of Sacramento. Signed by Dooly. 3.25 x 6" The Curless brothers came to Truckee in the 1860s and opened the first drug store there in 1869. George Washington Curless ran the store. His brother William was a physician and Truckee's primary doctor. Dr. Curless was on-board the ill-fated SS Central America that sank in 1857, but disembarked in New Orleans, a few days before the sinking.
