First item is a 1911 calendar plate from Smith & Englehart, Truckee, Cal. Berries, flowers and cherubs around the perimeter. William Englehart, Sr. operated a soda and bottling works in the Chinese Herb shop building in Truckee. The Engleharts owned the building for most of the twentieth century. During the prohibition years, it is rumored that some of Truckee’s finest bootleg whisky may have been produced in this building. We could not find anything specific about Smith & Englehart. Carnation McNicol on the back. Small piece chipped on the back. Second plate is a small 5" plate picturing "Mt. Tallac, Lake Tahoe, Near Truckee, Calif." Wheelock, Made in Austria for W.F. Wilkie Grocery Co., Truckee, Calif.
