We have seen many of these certificates in our years in business. But this is the rarer and much early 1854 bond. It is a very early number 154 to RT Brown. Signed by president William Clark and secretary RA Robinson. It also has the classic mining vignette showing a dammed river, miners operating sluices and a rocker. Lithography by Britton & Rey, S.F. The vignette was created by Britton & Rey in the 1850's and was used on the early versions of Bear River and Auburn Mining Company certificate’s, but it is perhaps most famous for the Tuolumne Water Company certificates from the 1850's. Very clean! Cut cancelled. Date: 1854 Location: Columbia, California HWAC# 58263
