Not Cancelled.This company is actually in White Pine County today, but before White Pine was formed it was part of Lander County. John Turner is most noted for his discovery of a large mass of pure silver. While walking toward the mine one day, Turner was prospecting along the way. He struck his pick into what looked like a mass of putty. It proved to be pure silver worth $15,000 to $25,000 a ton. the Eberhard, Turner and others agreed to share the property and renamed it the Eberhat, Stanford and Aurora.
