Rough turquoise - slabs, low grade. Approximate weight 4 pounds. From No. 8 turquoise mine, located in Nevada, often considered one of the top turquoise mines in the world. The mine, in Eureka county, north of Carlin, Nevada, was discovered in 1925 and first mined in 1929. Historically, it produced some of the largest nuggets of turquoise ever discovered, including one over 150 pounds in weight.
