Turquoise - smalls, cut pieces, etc. Interesting variety from No. 8 turquoise mine, located in Nevada, often considered one of the top turquoise mines in the world. Very collectible since mining has ceased at No. 8. The mine, in Eureka county, north of Carlin, Nevada, was discovered in 1925 and first mined in 1929. Historically, it produced some of the largest nuggets of turquoise ever discovered, including one over 150 pounds. The largest piece is about 2" x 1.5" x .25". Smallest are tiny chips and everything in-between. Approximate weight 2.8 pounds.
