1836 Tustennuggee Emathla print mounted on cardboard. "Tustenuggee was a Creek born around 1793 near the Tallapoosa River. He was also referred to as "Jim Boy." Despite fighting with the Red Sticks against the Americans during the Creek war of 1813-14, he aligned himself with the Americans against rebel Creeks in 1836. He & over three hundred Creek passengers were killed when the steamboat Monmouth sank in the Mississippi River on their way to Indian Territory in 1837." from teva.contentdm.oclc.org.
