Very nice examples of a fairly scarce California Gold token. 1936 California Gold 1/2 token commemorating the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge. Usually found corroded or damaged. These are in very good condition (1936) San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge Opening. The opening of the San Francisco Bay Bridge was the occasion for a special souvenir pieces. The designs were the work of Jacques Schnier, a San Francisco artist. A California grizzly bear on the obverse. The famous landmark bridge is shown on the reverse.
