Two different for this SF firm with large ties to Paris, which explains why one of these is all in French. 1) 1879 Second of Exchange for $292.50, blue print. 2) Second of Exchange in French (but with 1883 SF dateline). Both have folds, pinholes and minor wear. The bank was started by brothers Benjamin & Irene Belloc under the name Belloc Freres. When Irene Blloc died, his son Hippolyte Belloc of Paris became the sole partner, with H. Barroilhet acting as SF manager. The bank failed in March 1890 due to withdrawal of funds by the Paris branch (possibly connected to mining operations in Peru). Date: 1879 & 1883 Location: San Francisco, California HWAC# 60420
