Lot of 2 different. Ghost town in Nye County, 42 miles east of Tonopah. The Clifford brothers discovered silver in 1905. Peaked in 1908. When the Clifford Gold Mines Company purchased the Clifford mine and fourteen claims and began operations in 1925, the town saw a revival. However, in 1927 financial problems arose and the company was forced to close in 1929. 1) Clifford Silver Mines Company. Issued in 1921 in Tonopah for 3,000 shares to Frederick O'Byrne. Issued by the Tonopah Banking Corporation. 6 x 8.75" Folds. 2) Clifford Gold Mines Company. Issued in 1927, not cancelled. Properties Located at Gilbert and Clifford, Nevada (printed at bottom).
