Lot of two. 1) Hoole to the C. P. R. R. Imprinted with S. P. Hoole. 2c imprinted revenue stamp. 2) Different variety, same year. 2c revenue stamp. Also issue to the C. P. R. R. Freight. He was bringing in goods from San Francisco. Septimus Hoole was a lumber merchant in Gold Hill, Virginia City, and Reno, as well as a druggist in Reno and a newspaper publisher in Reno and Bodie, California. He opened his drug store, Hoole & Co., in Reno in 1876. He encountered financial problems and his store was sold to Pinniger and Queen. He created the Bodie Morning News, but that was also a failure.
