Lot of 2 different. 1) Daniel Webster Gold, Silver and Copper Mining Company. Pittsburg Mining District, Shasta County, Cala. (printed under logo). Inc. Jan 8, 1864. Dateline Shasta, Feb. 29th, 1864. No. 48, issued for 20 shares to PB Reading. Signed by the president R. Sprague(?) and secretary Homer A. Curtiss. Not cancelled. Portrait vignette of Webster at the top of the certificate. Printed by H.S. Crocker & Co., Sacramento. 25 cent adhesive revenue stamp attached at left. Fold, light wear. Curtiss came to Shasta in the 1850s and served as the district attorney. He was associated with the Original Twenty-Six Mining Co. at Bully Hill in the Pittsburg mining district. The company owned the lucrative Original Twenty-Six mining claim. Curtiss was also involved with the Daniel Webster Gold, Silver, & Copper Mining Co. at the same location. 2) Unissued stock for The Ophir Gold, Silver and Copper Mining Company. Inc. April 19, 1864.
