No. 2690, issued for 300 shares to Joseph Trotter in Philadelphia in 1871. Signed by president McQuaide and the secretary. Pen cancelled. Purple border and print. Beautiful vignette of bridge over river near village with one building labelled "McClintock House." Printed by Stein & Jones, Philadelphia. 8 x 11.5" Folds. Owned the Greenfield, Wright, & Whitman wells on the famous H. McClintock Farm at Oil Creek, Venango County, PA [The Petroleum Centre Daily Record, 26 July 1869]. 2) Linden Oil Company. "Venango County, PA" printed under vignette. No. 136, issued for 200 shares to John Beck in Philadelphia in 1865. Signed by president George Cookman and secretary Samuel Bailey. Not cancelled. Black border and print and two different oil vignettes with derricks, tanks, and barrels. Lith. of Theo. Leonhardt. 25 cent US IR Power of Attorney stamp attached on the right. 7.5 x 11.75" Folds. According to a Sept. 1864 ad for the company, their property was situated at the mouth of Oil Creek. In January 1865, they paid a dividend.
