Lot of 2, including: 1). Bond of the State of Nevada, No. 55, datelined Carson City, April 20, 1865. Measures 17" x 14," includes Coupon No. 9 and 10. Embossed seal at lower left, with 4 vignettes visible. Ornate red border with black and red print. "Approved March 10, 1865. The State of Nevada will pay to J. Lewis or bearer at the office of the State Treasurer…FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS, together with interest thereon from the date hereof, at the rate of Ten Per Cent Per Annum payable semi-annually." 2). State of Nevada payment to John Welch, datelined 1867. To "Mileage" for $12.00, check no. 31 signed by L.V. Julien as Pro-tem Speaker Assembly and Wm. Woodhurst as Sergeant-at-Arms Assembly. On the reverse is hand-written: "Jn. Welch/Member Assembly/Extra Session Mileage $12/March 16th 1867." Pinholes along right edge, otherwise very fine. 7 1/2" x 4."
