1) Straw & Morton, General Agents for Singer's Sewing Machines, Pittsburgh, July 19th, 1870. Adhesive revenue with tied cancel. Delicate paper with cut cancel and foxing. 2) Check from The Singer Manufacturing Co. w/ sewing machine facsimile RN. Oct. 12th, 1880. Fold and cut cancel. Singer started manufacturing in 1851. They made their first vibrating shuttle machine in 1885. During World War II, they helped manufacture artillery and bomb sights. (Prag Collection)
