1) Founded Oct. 1826. Incorporated Feb. 7, 1883. No. A1323, issued for 2 shares to Mrs. Elizabeth Lucas on June 9th, 1927 in Honolulu. Signed by the vice-president, Horace Johnson, and treasurer Jameson. Punch cancelled. Purple border and background, black print and five vignettes. These vignettes tell the history of the company on the stock: portrait of James Hunnewell, founder 1826; portrait of PC Jones, first president 1883; ship "Missionary Packet" which went from Boston to Honolulu in 1826; plus two vignettes of buildings (likely company offices). Printed by ABN. Folds, heavy toning, punch cancelled. 7.25 x 10.5" Stub included. This agricultural company was one of the Big Five in territorial Hawaii. They traded sandalwood, supplied whaling ships, and became involved in the sugar cane industry. 2) Unissued but scarce stock for the Mutual Telephone Company. Inc. 1883.
