Lot of two different. 1) Beautiful pictorial pass issued in 1891 to Louis Hasbrouck. Full black and gray vignette of steamboat moving past lighthouse. Signed by the general manager C.F. Gildersleeve and secretary Clark. 2) 1908 issued pass to Mr. & Mrs. Purcell. Printed signature of the president (a different Gildersleeve). Counter-signed on the reverse. Color logo. Both passes in very good condition. Eventually became part of Canada Steamship Lines, Ltd. Early tourism posters advertise the route to a "Thousand Islands." Charles Fuller Gildersleeve formed the Lake Ontario and Bay of Quinte Steamboat Company in 1893. He also served as mayor of Kingston, president of the Kingston & Pembroke Railway, and helped start the School of Mining at Queen's University. HWAC# 76422
