1) Hard to Find Silverhorn Mining and Development Co. #616. Incorporated in Nevada in 1921. Issued to Bartlett Smith for 10 shares in 1923. Signed by v. president H. J. Gillman and secretary Hutchings. Uncancelled. Vignette of birds eye view of mining camp. Brown border and gilt seal. Pack mule and miner at left and right borders. 8” x 11”. Owned the Nickel group, about 23 miles northwest of Pioche. In 1921, the company reported that financing was established and work was to begin soon. The only work took place in 1923, lasting only 3 months. Mines Handbook, 1925, p.1486). 2) Area 51 Groom Southend Mining Company. #123, issued for 10,000 shares to Gabel(?) Osborne in 1916. Signed by Wm. Armstrong as president and T.J. Osborne as secretary. Osborne, an attorney in Pioche acquired the property in the 1870’s and worked it for several years. In 1916, the company produced 1.5 million lbs. of lead and 25,000 oz. of silver, hauled 60 miles by tractor (1918 Mines Handbook).
