1) The Minneapolis and Rainy River Railway (1912, Number 74 issued to WE Stanhope) was a 97 miles long American short line railroad used primarily for logging activities in northern Minnesota in the early 20th century. It was incorporated in 1901. Due to the abundance of liver sausage in the logging camps along the line, it was nicknamed the "Gut and Liver Line." Ironically, despite its name, the Minneapolis and Rainy River Railway never got within 200 miles of Minneapolis nor within 75 miles of the Rainy River. Abandoned in 1932. 2) Minneapolis & St.Louis Railroad. 1895. No date. Signed by Mohler and issued to Trait. Part of back writing has been rubbed off. Date: Location: Minnesota HWAC # 53545
