Lot of 2. 1) $500 bond issued to Sol Lewis on April 17th, 1865. Signed by first Nevada Governor Henry Blasdell and controller C. Nightingill. Signatures are punch cancelled. Lithograph by Britton & Co. San Francisco. Vignette is seven inch scenic view comprising ore wagon drawn by horses, railroad train passing over bridge, factory belching smoke from multiple smokestacks, scout on horseback, pair of Native Americans including woman breastfeeding infant, etc. Three other small vignettes. Four coupons attached. 16 x 16.5" 2) City of Virginia Water Bond, $1,000, issued in 1877 to Sutro & Co. Signed by the mayor (J.S. Kaneen) and city clerk. Signatures are punch cancelled. Vignette of Capitol Building. Gilt border, gold seal. 14 x 15.5" This was for a contract with the Virginia & Gold Hill Water Company.
