Two lamps. one complete, the other missing the lens. Hand held, patented 1926 by J.M. Brook. Invented circa 1920. While patented for mining use, the lamp was also used by railroad. The lamp here without the lens is apparently an early, or first variety, as the company plaque lacks all detail except the company name. The second lamp, complete, has a plaque indicating "railroad lamp". 10.5" tall, base 6.5" diameter. Not seen often, scarce. State: City: Date: ID#46262
