1) Adams Express Company. 1865. Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. From JL Russell to G Koonce & Son for $400. This was the scene of John Brown's raid. The city changed hands eight times during the war. Delivered four months after the end of the Civil War. 2) Old Southern Express 1802 delivery receipt from Lynchburg, Virginia. It was from Fords Depot on the SSRR and from Mr.s. Ford. Addressed to Mr. Ford. For 1 keg! Fords Depot was in Dinwiddie County and most probably named for Mr. Ford of our receipt.
