This is an unusual pair. The first is by the Continent Stereoscopic Co. of New York. The view is labelled as "C Street, Virginia City, Nevada--looking North." No way is this Virginia City. A dead giveaway are the trolley tracks running through the center of the street. Possibly somewhere on the East Coast? The second stereoview is a classic mislabelling. Keystone View Co. #16759, labelled "A Silver Mining Camp Nestled in the Mountains, Nevada." This has been reinterpreted to be the Black Hawk/Central City area in Colorado. Perhaps the camp of Nevadaville (above Central City) contributed to the confusion? State: Nevada City: Date:
