These are two very similar, yet distinctly different medallions. In English both say "Y. Y.," "San Francisco, Cal.," and "1887." After that, everything else is in Chinese. According to the Chinese Historical Society of America Museum, the main characters down the center read "Tin How Temple." The characters to the right read "San Francisco Chinatown." They believe the characters to the left of both of the medallions refer to names. This is the first that they have seen of these. City: San Francisco State: California Date: 1887 ID# 37210
