Lot of 2 different. 1) Bond on the County of Storey, Nevada, 1869. The sale of these $1,000 bonds was to provide a loan of $300,00 to the Virginia & Truckee Railroad to help finance the line to Virginia City. Such was the funding from all sources that the first train from Carson City pulled into Virginia City just 35 days after the issuance of this bond. It has a center fold and light pen cancelling on the front. 2) City of Virginia Water Bond, Virginia City, Nevada, 1877. Issued on behalf of the city and the Virginia & Gold Hill Water Company, likely to rebuild infrastructure after the 1875 fire. The water company built Marlette Lake above Tahoe and pumped water up to VC in the early 1870s. Signed by the mayor, punch cancelled. 14 x 15"
