Rare. Both are manuscript. Issued two days apart (June 7th and 9th, 1869). One is to Theo. F. Wood, Cashier, for $1,699.08. The other is to Claggett, Basset & Mills for $500. Both in Current Funds. Both signed by Theo. F. Tracy as agent.Both have 2 cent adhesive revenue stamps with Wells Fargo Salt Lake City cancels. Folds, some soiling/toning. 4.5 x 8.75" Theodore F. Tracy took over Wells Fargo's staging operations in Salt Lake City in 1868. The 1869 Salt Lake City directory has the following listing for him: resident agent Wells Fargo & Co res Townsend House. The office was at East Temple Street, according to an ad in that directory that also mentions the stage service to and from the terminus of the Central Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads.
