This U.S. Model 1860 Navy cutlass is marked with the partial date of "186x" and the inspector's stamp of "D.R." (Daniel Reynolds) partially visible at the ricasso. No marker's mark shown but likely Ames. There is a stamp of "18M" and "730" on the inside of the brass soup cup guard now known as the navy issue. The blade is about 26 in. in length 5/16 in. at the spine, and the sword is 32 in. overall length. The brass hardware on the guard is sound, solid and intact. The black leather bound grip is in very good condition with wire wrap. No scabbard. Overall condition is very good.
