The Department of Printing and Engraving prints reproductions of U. S. currency for distribution at coin shows. This binder contains 26 pages, 10 x 8 inches, with dramatic renditions of our most beautiful currency, with descriptions of the currency's history. Issued mostly in the early 1990s. Includes the Watermelon note, the Educational Series, $1000 gold coin note, Long Beach National Note of 1903, $5000 Federal Reserve Note. Each crisp uncirculated condition, in a protective plastic page in a ring binder. The U. S. Mint website describes the process: "Our engraved prints are created using intaglio plate printing. In the plate printing process, ink is applied to a plate so that it remains only in the engraved areas. Paper is then laid atop the plate, and the two are pressed together under great pressure. As a result, the ink from the recessed areas is pulled onto paper, creating a finished image commonly called an engraving.
