Born Hiram Ulysses Grant but was referred to as Sam at West Point due to a clerical error during his registration. This lot contains three postal covers and a lithograph print of the likeness of U.S. Grant 6 in. X 9 in. with some foxing, a brass coin commemorating Grant as the 18th POTUS while the reverse side lists his military career accomplishments. The lot has a detailed map -- likely draw from West Point war books -- of the Vicksburg Campaign as well as the battlefield of Shiloh near Pittsburg Landing, in Tennessee.
