This is thought to be a unique error note. PMG erred in not placing the "mismatched serial number" on the label, but it is clearly evident on the reverse. Fr. #1909-I, printed fold error with different serial numbers front and back. Printed at the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank in 1977. Serial number on obverse is I09377657B but on the rebverse is I09397657B! Bart's "United States Paper Money Errors", 2003, lists a number of different kinds of mismatched serial numbers. Only two are listed from the 1977 series, and this example is different. Most mismatched notes have only one mismatched digit. This note has one mismatched digit - in the middle of the sequence.
