This is an original US Assay Office silver ingot, weighing about 60 pounds. It is a true rarity, as most of the US Mint or Assay office bars are significantly smaller. It is 11-3/4 x 4-3/4 x 3-7/8 inches. Like many other larger bars, this ingot is the product of five smaller pours. The weight is 1016.70 troy ozs, 895.50 fine, as stamped into the face. It is further punched "U. C. 54" which may be the client initials and serial number. It is in excellent condition.

The ingot comes from the Central Valley area, held by the same family since its initial pour. It came to us in an old Farmers Merchants Bank, Lodi cloth bank bag. The USAO SF pattern is the small oval with eagle. See photos for details.
