Collection of ephemera relating to Fort Humboldt, where U.S. Grant was stationed in 1854. The fort was established as a "buffer" between the new California gold rush discoveries along the Trinity River (and others) and Native Americans. The group includes a very rare Fort Humboldt souvenir silver spoon with an engraving of the Guard House in the bowl and a three dimensional Indian at the top of the handle; an MS 64 Grant Half Dollar, a civil war era bullet, two postcards of fort Humboldt and a toy soldier.
