A letter written & signed by Pennsylvania State Senator William Andrew Wallace, c1879, in support of an another candidate for senator, Valentine. It is written on United States Senate Chamber, Washington, D.C. letterhead. Wallace served as a Democratic member of the U.S. Senate for Pennsylvania from 1875 to 1881. He also served as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 20th district from 1863 to 1886, including as speaker in 1871. The letter was possibly written to Edward K. Valentine who was elected judge to the sixth judicial district in 1875, & served as a Republican member of the U.S. Senate for Nebraska from 1879-1885. [ Pennsylvania
