Northwest Territorial Mint produced this beautifully enameled set of one-troy-ounce, proof-quality silver medallions to commemorate "various ships, planes, services and events" related to the United States Coast Guard. According to the included Certificate of Authenticity, three of the medallions celebrate 50 years of service with an Anniversary of the USCG Auxiliary in 1989; Anniversaries of the involvement of the Coast Guard in WWII and the USCG Reserve Anniversary in 1991.

The fourth medallion clelbrates the 75th Anniversary of USCG Aviation in 1991, and the fifth celebrates the USCG and 200 years of service in 1990. The sixth medallion honors the USCG Cutter "Eagle," the only active-duty square rigger in American service.

Each 39mm medallion is stuck in 999 Fine Silver and then the details of each coin are enhanced by translucent enamel on both sides. The encapsulated medallions are mounted in a blue leatherette-style clamshell box lined with blue velvet under the medallions and a white satin lining in the top which has been silver-foil embossed with "USCG Collectors Series." A red, white, and blue ribbon is mounted from the right edge to the lower edge of the lid to hold the Certificate of Authenticity, which says this is set number 31 of a limited-edition issue of these medallions. The total production is not known.

This comes from the liquidation of Northwest Territorial Mint. Date: City: Auburn State: Washington HWAC# 77113
