Two $2.00 bills (number 1186 and 1187) and three $1.00 bills (numbers 1888, 1189, 1190). When the Bank of Darion failed, the Central Bank of Georgia took it place. The Central Bank of Georgia was established in 1828 by the Georgia State Legislature using state funds. The bank's directors were directly appointed by the governor. The bank did not closely monitor its funds, and it closed in 1856, resulting in the state losing a large amount of money from the endeavor. This is a rare Georgia numismatic sheet. The top $2.00 has a ragged rip that goes for more than half of the bill. Includes a large biographical information on Thomas Spaulding and the Bank of Darion.
