This is a fantastic underground scene with two miners and two burros. 5 x 7" photo on 8 x 10" mount. When Fred Holabird saw it, he thought of this song: "My sweetheart is a mule in the mines/ I Drove her without any lines / on her bumper I sit / as I chew & I spit / all over my sweetheart's behind." We believe this was shot using a magnesium flash given that it was bright enough for one of the miners to close his eyes. Labelled "Laglede" We found a Vandalia, Missouri 1916 article mention a LaGlede Mine. No photographer listed.
