Lot of 2 Bank of California items. 1) Bank of California Note to pay Union Mill & Mining Co. $7500.00 dated May 9th, 1870 in Gold Coin. Signed by A.M. Edington. William Sharon, agent signature on reverse. Interest at one percent per month. Three stamps on reverse: a three dollar green Washington Internal Revenue Manifest stamp (R-86), a 25 cent red Washington Internal Revenue Power of Attorney stamp (R-48) and a 50 cents green Washington Internal Revenue Orig. Process stamp (R-60). This was the consolidation of the Bank of California's Comstock mines and mills. 2) 1870 Bank of California small letterhead listing DO Mills as president and WC Ralston as secretary. Sent to Allen & Curtis in Mineral Hill, NV. Note is about $3000 in gold coin sent via Wells Fargo. Signed for Ralston by J. Dunn.
