Very rare Leadville stock with CO pioneer autograph! Low number 3, issued for 100 shares to company treasurer M.B. Camplin on June 28th, 1881. Signed by president E.H. Gruber, treasurer Camplin, and secretary John Reynolds. Not cancelled. Attractive multi-color design with green, red, and black print and train vignette. Printed by Longshore & Ward, Leadville. 6.25" x 9.75" Folds. E.H. Gruber co-founded the influential pioneer Colorado banking firm of Clark, Gruber & Co. According to the reverse of this certificate, the company owned the Camp Point & Devanport Lodes adjoining the Long & Derry mines, California District, Lake County, Colorado. In the Devanport Lode, they have 14 feet of contact matter which had a mill run of 40 ozs. silver per ton. Not listed in C&L. Ken Prag Collection
