This lot is a set of three identical United Nations 1972 Peace Medals made by The Franklin Mint in 925 Sterling Silver. These appear to be one-troy-ounce rounds, but no specific weight is given in the enclosed letter from The Franklin Mint. Each medal is encapsulated and then embedded in an approximately 3-9/16 tall by 3-inch wide transparent acrylic slab that acts as a display stand. The words, "UNITED NATIONS 1972 PEACE MEDAL" and "STERLING SILVER PROOF" are silver-foil embossed into the acrylic below the medal.
Each display piece is in the original 4.5 x 5.5-inch ecru leather-like cardboard packaging with the original letter from William Krieg of The Franklin Mint. This lot comes from the liquidation of Northwest Territorial Mint City: State: Date: 1972 HWAC# 79554
