Lot of 22 different. These are mostly issued in the 1950s, an important era for uranium mining in the US. Following the atomic bombing of Japan in WWII, the demand for uranium for nuclear weapons drastically increased. Shifting away from importing uranium from Africa, the Atomic Energy Commission searched for domestic deposits. They found them in the Southwest US (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah). Demand and production increased when the US entered the Cold War. This collection includes: Union Uranium Co. (1958); O-Kan Uranium & Oil Co. (uniss); Black Mesa Uranium Corp.
